Just got off the phone to apple support and they’re stumped. Just opened a project and all my third party transitions, generators, titles and effects have disappeared. I know I know, subscription models suck, everything is monthly these days, we don't own anything anymore, Apple sucks, etc, etc. Hey, Final Cut automatically downloaded the latest update to 10.6. This isn’t true, free Resolve does use the GPU. And worst case, if I don't use it or like it, I'm out $5. Though beware the free version does not use the GPU so if you have one then you wont be able to get the performance boosts unless you buy the studio version. And because it's so cheap up-front, I wouldn't doubt if this becomes my go-to editor (like how I use Keynote for tons of stuff), and I'll probably end up paying for it for years.

I built a Hackintosh just to use Final Cut Pro however, I just bought a new graphics card and it is not supported on Mac OS Catalina. This now lets me try it, use it, get used to it, for a month or two for $5/$10. I've always wanted to use Final Cut Pro (usually in short periods of time once a year when I randomly need to edit a bunch of stuff), but I just could never justify forking out so much money when I may not like it or use it forever. Thank you Apple and I love that it's subscription based.
